ICT Tier2 ext beyond 9 yrs

Hi,

is it possible to get extension beyond 9yrs on Tier 2 ICT if salary is more than £120,000.

Below is my visa summary:

ICT short term Visa - 13/5/2012
ICT Long term visa - 17/03/2013
ICT Long term visa extension - valid until 17/03/2018

so in Mar-2018; i'll complete 5yrs and 10months; My employer is ready to extend visa for another 4yrs with £120,000, that will bring me close to 9yrs 10months.

is it possible to get another ICT tier2 extension beyond 9yrs on £120,000 salary?
Can i switch to Tier2 Genral?
is there any way to get extra couple of months stays to complete 10yrs before apply ILR?

No, you will not be able to extend ICT LT passed 9 years.

How long you can stay
You can come to the UK with a Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) visa for up to the maximum stay allowed for your visa type, or the time given on your certificate of sponsorship plus one month, whichever is shorter.

The maximum stay for each type of Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) visa is:

Long-term Staff (if you earn more than £120,000 a year): 9 years

No, there is more to it than that - best interests of the child, children adaptable etc. Kids are no longer a passport to residency.

Appears like you can apply for Tier 2 General from home country immediately after Tier 2 ICT if proposed salary is >= £159,600

No, a Tier 2 ICT issued post April 2011 cannot switch
You could try other visa options for in country switch such as dependent visa, Tier 1 Entrepreneur..

Thanks for your help, that answer my questions.

So, at the end after 9yrs 10months; i can move out from UK and immediately apply Tier2 general with £159,600 and come back to UK which will not reset the clock and I can apply for ILR once 10yrs complete.

All of these are by current rules. Rules change every year and difficult to predict what the salary band exists by 2022
