Newborn of a ILR father and TIER1 Dependent mother

Post by NROW » Wed Jun 07, 2017 8:54 pm

Hi,

We are expecting a baby in July 2017. I am currently holding an ILR and my wife & first kid are holding TIER1 General dependent VISA. Is it true that my newborn will be eligible for British Citizenship?

Regards,
Rowthri.

If born in the UK, then baby will automatically be British.

If born abroad, child has the same immigration status as the less-privileged parent.

Thanks for the quick response. As my baby will be automatically be British, I believe there will not be any fee to be paid. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!

If child is born in the UK, then apply directly for a passport and pay the passport fee.
