IGS SCHEME - FEB 29TH 2008

HI,

i HAVE APPPLIED FOR MY IGS ON 25TH FEB 2008 THROUGH POST HERE IN UK. MY VISA EXPIRES ON 28TH FEB 2008.

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO GET 2 YEARS AS NEW RULE APPPLICABLE FROM FEB 29TH 2008?.....

SENIORS, MODERATORS OR PPL IN THE SAME BOAT ... PLEASE REPLY...

I think if your application is processed after 29th, you will be granted 2 years or else 1 year. But so far no solid news from HO about the post study work visa. Please let us know your result

doesnt make a difference when u apply for ur visa... it depends on what form u hv used to apply for IGS visa ....

if u hv used version 05/2007, you will def get 1 yr

if u hv used 02/2008, you will def get 2 yrs

I hv used 05/2007 and hv attended the PEO croydon yesterday (my visa expires on 29/02/2008) and got the visa for 1 yr only....

HO website is not yet been updated that 2 yrs will defnitely be granted, but as a matter of fact its just a speculation....

I heard from a solicitor (Imm Consultant) that post-study work will be tightened for the students who are applying from local colleges (dodgee - dont know whether I can use this word or not) but if you hv genuinely did ur Masters or whatever from any recognised body, no problem to get the visa for 2 yrs........
