Leaving country between jobs on Tier 2 permit

Hi, I am currently on Tier 2 general with a firm. I have got a job offer from another firm who will sponsor me on Tier 2 again. For the few weeks where I will be between jobs (after having left my current employer), can I leave UK and travel abroad? Sorry if this has been answered previously, I tried looking for this information but didnt find much on it. Thanks

make sure you change the visa before leaving.
