WHy IELTS when I have provided UKNARIC English language

Post by koko88 » Mon Jun 19, 2017 6:51 am

Hi All,
I have provided UKNARIC English Language certificate with C1 level proficiency but my visa has been refused saying 'You are required to provide an English Language Certificate that can be verified using the IELTS SELTconsortium online system. That means UKNARIC english language is not valid? and I have to give IELTS to reapply.

Hi Experts,
Should I go for administrative review? I want to understand why UKVI has not considered my UKNARIC English language certificate.
Please suggest at the earliest.

Hello Koko,

Not an expert but the only approved English Test is the IELTS for UKVI (Academic if you want to keep studying yet better check with prospective Uni else General).

If you didn't apply through the NARIC Visas and Nationality form (https://www.naric.org.uk/visas%20and%20 ... /FAQs.aspx then this UKNARIC document you're providing is only an assessment, it doesn't provide further support for any related Visa subject.

I strongly suggest in my humble opinion to save time and stress: do the IELTS for UKVI, it's a simple test and valid for 2 years that'll support any Visa application you'll do for UK. I'm sure there's a centre and a date that will help you faster than an administrative review.

Check:

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration ... uage-tests

TIER 2 Guidance:

Cheers and good luck.

Thank you for your reply.
I have NOT submitted the degree of comparability and I think I have missed that as gov.uk suggests :
Degree taught in English
151. You may provide evidence that you hold a degree which is equivalent to a UK bachelor’s or
master’s degree or a PhD, and which was taught or researched in English to a particular
level, as evidence of your English language ability.- SUBMITTED
152.The degree must:
 be recognised by National Academic Recognition Information Centre for the UK (UK
NARIC) as equivalent to a UK bachelor’s or master’s degree or PhD; and _NOT SUBMITTED
 have been accessed by UK NARIC as having been taught in English to the relevant
standard. SUBMITTED
I checked this again and UKNARIC is still valild but both the English assessment and degree of comparability :(
It was not clear from their site.
* There are 2 different section
1. Degree Taught in English ( UKNARIC)
or
2. English Language Test (IELTS)
I am getting the VISA and NATIONALITY service from UKNARIC as I am not getting an early slot for IELTS.
