Hi

I made BRP change name application too using NTL form.

Applied: 22nd Feb
Received Biometrics letter: 23rd March
Enrolled Biometrics: 23 March

Haven't heard anything since then. It's taking too long when I only changed my BRP because I got married, but I provided all my passports including my previous one and my existing BRP card.

Are there any updates here with your applications?

Thanks
Sari

I'm in the same boat and timeline with everybody else on this thread. I made my application to transfer my ILR to BRP in Feb 2017, 4 months on I'm still waiting to hear from the Home Office. I wrote them last month and the feedback I received was to contact them again if I don't receive my BRP within the 6 months(from application date) as per their guidelines. Below is my timeline:

Application made: 06/02/2017
Payment taken: 09/02/2017
Brp letter received: 20/02/2017
Brp done: 21/02/2017
Requested update: 23/05/2017
Feedback from HO: 30/05/2017

Upon using online tool I get the following:
https://contact-ukvi.homeoffice.gov.uk/ ... visastatus

Your application has been considered and is awaiting a decision.

Like everyone else here I just assumed that since I've got ILR my case would be straight forward and not having to wait this long. I'm just wondering what they have to consider given I already have ILR "settlement".

I'm at the mercy of the HO and still waiting, will update you guys if and when I hear from them.

Hi CanadianBear,

Your application is well over 6 months as per the HO guidelines. You better contact them ASAP or alternatively seek help from your local MP to chase it on your behalf.

Good luck!

Hi I received an answer from whatdotheyknow.com as I did a request in freedom of information, and statistically the latest average waiting time is 112.61 calendar days for NTL applications 2017.

Please let me know if somebody's got their decision already :(

Thanks

Hi Guys

Just to say I am stuck here in limbo too, my application sent on 27/2, did bio-metrics etc, now waiting apparently endlessly, and it really is such a stressful and vulnerable state to be in. I had absolutely no idea it would take this long, as I naively believed the statement "we normally return your documents within 20 working days" on the NTL guidance notes. On their own GUIDANCE notes that are meant to help, but it's completely misleading. Why doesn't someone just remove that so that we can make a better informed decision? Surely not because they simply don't care?!!

I have been reading endlessly through the immigration board for weeks now, and I have come across so many poor people who are frightened, panicked, trapped, desperate, being met with stony silence with their futures hanging in the balance. It's just so unecessary and so very frustrating.

I found some small comfort in seeing other's timelines and so I thought I should return the favour. I can't wait to hear some good news from somebody on here soon.

You are right I am a little worried, I sometimes think did I photocopy enough pages?, were my tax records correct?, I forgot to inform them I moved too, is that holding it up? All these little things. But then I read to thread and there are at least 5 people all waiting since feb'17 and one from Nov last year!

Update!:

I hope it helps those who are worried and still waiting for feedback from the HO.

I have today received my passports and bio-metrics approval letter from the HO, I should receive my bio-metrics card in the next few days. As you can see from my timeline it has taken roughly 4.5 months from application date. Personally I think it's way too much time just to transfer ILR to BRP, not to mention the stress that goes with it...

For those who are within my timeline I hope you hear from the HO soon, all the best.

Just a quick update on my case. Got a letter today, to say my biometrics were "unsuccessful" and I must return to the Post office and do it again.
And I now have two different Case Reference Numbers on the letters.

Sounds to me they are putting their heart and soul into this job.

Off tomorrow to do it again- $%*&%^£%r###

STATS: -applied for NTL in Nov 2016
- Indefinite Leave to Remain in old Canadian Passport since 2004
- April 2017 BioMetrics at Post Office completed and sent

Being watching closely Gooner2017's and Sericaaa's experiences since their application dates are close to mine.

Such a distressful few months. So glad it's done. In the spirit of sharing:

Application made: 06/02/2017
Payment taken: 09/02/2017
Acknowledgement email received: 08/03/2017
BRP letter received: 10/03/2017
Biometrics taken: 14/03/2017
BRP card received: 22/06/2017
Passports and documents: still waiting

It took 4 months 20 days, which is 140 days in total, for my application to complete.
