Can you travel outside the UK after requesting/receiving your passport back?
Yes, you can work.

If your Family permit expired - you can't leave the UK until decision made as you won't be able to get back in. If you still have valid Family permit- yes, you can travel

This is really stressing another stress. When will this come in force ??? And can I apply for citizenship as soon as I get my PR before this new law ??

Dear all,

I really need an advise. I'm really worried now about the new law that even though you have been granted permanent residence you still have to apply again for settled status. MY QUESTION IS WHEN THIS NEW LAW COMING IN TO FORCE AND CAN I STILL APPLY FOR BRITISH CITIZENSHIP WITHIN THIS 2 YEAR UNTILL THE UK LEAVES THE EU IN 29th MAR of 2019 ??????

Please someone help here

Documents posted 08/05/2017

I've been trying to check the status of my application but it says "Reference number not recognised". I tried both the case ID and the Royal Mail tracking number. Anyone having similar issues?

Hello everyone. I could really use some help on this one. nonEEA PR application decided on 05/06/2017, PR received on 22/06/2017. The decision letter - not received. Passport and other documents - no received. I am glad I got my PR card, but still loosing my passport and a pack of quite sensitive documents is not something I am looking forward to. :( To get a new passport I have to go back to my country, go through a long and tedious bureaucratic process and if at all possible I would like to avoid it. What's weird I received neither papers OR the decision letter. I moved but all my mail is redirected to my new address including one requiring signature.

I called the HO, they sent me a letter requesting the following details

Full Name
Date of Birth
GWF number
IHS number
Passport number
Place of submission
Type of Visa applied for
Date of biometrics
Nationality
Applicants e-mail
Reason for escalation

I tried but was unable to get an information about GWF number and IHS number. Can anyone tell me what they are and how I get them? Thank you.

No one knows the answer to when the new law will come into effect.
If you tick all the boxes and requirements for BC, why not apply when you are able to?
We are still in the EU.

Yes I have. They need the tracking number to check it out. Can do nothing without it.

We did, but that was years ago. You have to apply for an EEA FP (if you are a family member), although you can probably avoid that if you can get in on a tourist visa. Things may have changed since then, but what you quoted has no basis in law. Where did you find it?

Hi Goreny

No, I can't check it because I do not have a reference number. I have not heard anything from them so far.

Any joy? Seems they are pretty slow at present. We are also waiting for decision dated 20 June and no sign yet of our paid for special delivery envelope being used. Guess we will have to wait for the 10 working days and take it from there.

I dont see any reason to be anxious now. The new rules clearly state that all EU citizens including those with permanent residence certificates will have to apply for "settled status". Why are people going all panicky? This document is practically worthless.
