I applied on 17 March, so together with others here, I am expecting the status to change any minute now.

Interesting to note, that arif254 received a council letter about the ceremony but the online status hasn't been updated yet. My council told me that the letters might come out of order or with a bit of delay as some of it is done 2nd class post and other things are done online.

You know what's bizarre? As previously posted, I applied on the 16th of March, and until early afternoon today the page still showed "Awaiting decision" updated on the 25th of May.
I checked again now and it says "Decided", updated on the 23rd of May.

Anyhow, will wait for the letter, which hopefully will arrive in up to 10 days, which will hopefully have good news

On the letter, It is mentioned that you should not contact Local council and you will receive an invitation of ceremony shortly.

Its 30/6 and I have not received any invitation letter yet, I was wondering it looks like a different process.

I am checking post and people saying that they have booked a ceremony etc but in my case why I dont have the option to book myself and been asked not to contact local council, Is the process changed?

Its not 1 day. Letter date is 21st june and they said you should receive a letter from council witn in 10 days of the approval date.

Also people booking for ceremony online but inhave been asked not to contact council

My date of application was 10th march
Approval letter date 21st june
Council letter should be received with in 10 days of approval date but its 1st july and have not received yet.

I dont know how people are booking ceremony as i dont have the option and approval letter said you should not contact conuncil.

Some councils have an online booking facility. May be try inputting your reference number in the council's online booking facility. If it is recognised and allows you to book then you can probably be certain that the letter is on its way and then try calling the council?

I have different councils in my town, dont know which one to call, i will try caling them both councils on Monday.
Can we book ceremony in some different council which is not in my area like i live in slough and can i book in watford etc?

it is likely going to be the local council that covers your residence address (the one you pay council tax too) unless you indicated you want to attend ceremony at another council in your application form...

I have just noticed my application status change from awaiting (updated on 25/05/2017) to decided
- application status updated on 25 June 2017. It must have changed in the last hour.

I have just received an approval letter and all my supporting documents back - still waiting for an invitation letter (I posted my application on 14/03/2017). I was a bit suprised that they posted all my documents: p60, passport, pr card etc. using just a standard 2nd class letter - no tracking / no compensation if lost etc.

I applied to naturalisation on 9/3/17 by Postal and received approval and ceremony invitation letters today.

Online status still shows 'Awaiting a decision' on 25/05/2017.

Different posts. Council invitation confirms the date and time of the ceremony.

It's well beyond their SLA as quoted on website..... they should provide some sort of communication\explanation if anything beyond 6 months awaiting period. If any complex cases
