Spouse Visa - TB Certificate at airport?

Post by klite12 » Tue Jul 04, 2017 6:58 pm

Hi Guys,

Does my wife need to show her TB Certificate at the airport once she has her visa granted to her?

She went to the Visa Centre in Islamabad today and they scanned her application form, the appointment confirmation letter took her priority receipt then returned it to her.

They didn't want her IELTS certificate or her TB test - My lawyer has advised that we'll compile it all in one file and send it off to the Home Office. However I've read that she'll need to show her TB Certificate at the airport once she lands in the UK. What happens in that situation? The Home Office will have the original TB certificate so what would she do? Or is this an outdated requirement?

Thanks!

Yes, she needs to carry her TB test with her.

Will a copy suffice or does she need the original?

The original will be sent to the Home Office with the rest of the supporting evidence.

Copy should be ok and she can explain.

However you will get the originals back before she gets a decision on her visa so you could send the original to her.

Spouse Visa - TB Test Query

Post by klite12 » Mon Jul 10, 2017 7:00 pm

Hi Guys,

A quick question just out of curiosity. I've read that the TB certificate is valid for 6 months, now from the date of the test once it comes negative, if after that you do somehow get TB, what happens?

Do you need to disclose this, or is this redundant then? Or what essentially happens at that point or what are you meant to do? Do you just proceed as normal with the application and then try and get the TB cured?

I'm just a bit curious on this as the 6 months time seems a bit long.

Thanks!
