A quick question please. Does the existence of dependants increase the processing time or is it mainly the nationality?

I am not sure what is the main reason for taking long time(almost 6 months for my application), but I can point out two general issues apart from nature of each application which has effects to this process :
1- Brexit and increase of settlement applications by European citizens in the UK. It has made hug pressure on Home Office
2- Purdah status of government: in related to general election in June 2017 , government went to the pre-election period for 4 weeks. it slowed down every functions of the UK government .

Biometric letter jan 14th 2017
Biometric submitted - 16th Jan 2017

Confirmation letter of ILR received on July 3rd 2017
BRP received on July 4th 2017

Expiry date of BRP is 30-06-2024, meanwhile Settlement ILR stated on the card.

Hope it helps you guys.
Wish you all the best,
thank you

Hi jes23,

Congratulations to you and your dependants! It is very encouraging to hear good news, very happy for you.
Just a quick question, did your dependants get ilr as a stamp on their passport or other form of document?

Thanks

Hello to you,
ILR is provided to all of us just as BRP card. STAMP or Sticker is no longer provided. Once you travel abroad with travel doc or national passport, once you come back ,you must show your BRP card along side your passport at the UK Border.
Thanks that really helps! Goodluck

Hi NorthernBoy122
Congrats on your ILR.
Just a question, as I 'm gona apply in November, did HO send you the work permit confirmation when you applied for your ILR? (before decision being made?)
Thanks a lot.

Thank you Jes23 for the clarification. Agree but as for individual cases, I believe nationality is the dominant factor(not sure about the dependents issue though). Some members are still waiting for nearly a year while others got it in about 4 months recently.

Hi Parivash & Tamil Boy

Once you will apply for ILR SET (P). HO will send you an acknowledgement letter which confirm will receipt of your application and will provide further information and Top Enquiries.

Regarding work and other entitlements it states - " Your status and entitlements, including the right to work, continue whilst a decision is being made on your settlement application. Further it will elaborate about work:
Issue 7: Permission to work

Can I work while my application is awaiting consideration?

You are entitled to continue to work in the UK if the conditions attached to your previous grant of leave allowed you to work and your Settlement application was made whilst you still had valid leave.

I hope this will be of help.

Regards

Hi guys,
I am confused on filling the brp section 5 of the form. Once the main applicant puts his detail, what about for dependents? Are dependants expected to fill the same section separately? Even those who never had brp card before?
Thanks

Hi Hulu6

I only filled in the BRP of myself only as the main applicant.
The status of my application "awaiting decision", which indicates that there was no problem with filling my application.

Hope this helps.

Dear All,

I have received my ILR recently in 2nd last week of 6th month. Here is my timeline.

Application sent: 07-Feb-2017
Arrived at HO Liverpool: 08-Feb-2017
Confirmation email received: 14-Feb-2017
BRP letter received: 17-Feb-2017 dated 14-Feb-2017
Bio-metrics enrolled: 18-Feb-2017
Email received every month on 14th except months when weekend falls on 14th then it comes 1 or 2 days later.
Approval letter received: 25-Jul-2017 dated 24-Jul-2017
BRP card: 26-Jul-2017

Online system keep showing "Awaiting decision" while I received Approval letter by using Royal Mail tracking number, but when I checked by Case-ID then it changed to "Decided" on 26-Jul-2017.

I wish for all who are waiting for ILR positive and fast decisions in their favour. All the best everyone.

Yes, I got my fifth email today. It says We are emailing you to confirm that your recent Home Office application is still under consideration and we expect to make a decision within 6 months of the date of your application, which is our service standard. If we are unable......

The online status is "Awaiting decision"
