Trying to calculate 5 years for Tier 2 General

Post by dogra » Tue Jul 18, 2017 10:47 pm

Hi
My current Tier 2 General Visa is ending on 4th October 2017. As per home office guidelines I must have completed 5 year on Tier 2 General before applying for ILR.

But I don't remember the Tier 2 General visa start date exactly. Because I can't find my first BRP. I do have a letter from home office dated 17 Oct 2012 saying that my application for Tier 2 General is successful. My PSW ended on 10th Sept.
My issue is what date should I take as a start date of my Tier 2 General Visa. I am thinking of calling Home office for this. Any suggestions are welcome.

thanks in advance

I have a feeling ukvi wont be able to help u. It was your responsibility to keep a copy.
Maybe ask the employer if they have a copy. Or landlord, bank etc?
Otherwise it is safe to apply close to end date of your visa , much safer by post as by the time they start looking at your application, you'd defo completed your 5 years

Thanks for letting me know of this service...I am grateful to you. I am going to apply for it today. I only hope that I don't fall short of 5 year condition by 13 days only
