No cover letter of EFM application. Is this bad?

Hi everyone,

I'm four months into my wait for my EFM visa (NZ partner of Dutch citizen, a QP).

I follow this forum daily for any updates on timelines and have just realised that people include cover letters in their applications. I did not. I included more than the required documentation to prove our seven year relationship (including engagement) and I just assumed it would be straight forward. Is it bad that I didn't include one and will it reduce my chances of a first time approval?
