FLR and work permit

Hi,

If someone has tier-4 student visa and her husband is with her as a tier-4 student dependant visa who has full time workpermit. She is pregnant and about to give delivery just the next month of her visa expires. So she wants to apply for FLR for a short period and then after delivery then within 6 months she wants to apply for her Masters or PhD!

Question is - if they are granted FLR for 6 months then what will happen with their current work permit? Will they be able to continue their employment status as she is working part time and her husband full time.

Work Permit = Tier 2 General visa.

Do you mean 'work permitted'??

Unlikely she will qualify for any FLR visa.

What are the qualification for FLR?

She is about to finish her Masters and wanted to apply for PhD but due to her pregnancy her delivery for baby and visa expiration are both closely may would be together. That's why she is planning to apply for FLR on medical grounds.

So if she is granted the FLR namely for 6 months, then he question is as when she was a student had part time 20 hours work permit and her husband full time workpermit, what will happen in relation to their work permit during their FLR visa status!

Pregnancy is hardly a reason for 'medical grounds'. This classification is for people who have serious illness, like cancer or dialysis, for example.

She has obviously known for a few months that she is pregnant, she could have deferred her studies, returned home to have the baby and then come back with a visa again or her partner could have tried to secure a sponsor for Tier 2 general and change visa categories.
