Tier 5 Government authorised exchange for non EEA national

Post by new2here » Sat Aug 05, 2017 11:43 am

Hi everyone,

I read the full guidance (https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... idance.pdf) on Tier 5 GAE and nowhere did I read/see any disclaimers as below:

-non-EEA nationals can only intern for up to 6 months

-non-EEA nationals must be pursuing a degree or would have started the internship within 12 months of graduating

(I've seen these disclaimers on sites that claim to offer internships or claim to serve as sponsoring bodies).

Can anyone point me to the relevant documentation on these disclaimers?

I can't seem to find it. Is this information outdated? Is it incorrect?

Thank you.

It appears that different schemes have different criteria.

Hiya, I actually came across this document. It doesn't address my question though. And it actually states up to 12 months of work experience (under the schemes of the different overarching bodies that apply to me). No where in the doc mentions 6 months.

I guess this (the 6 months; must be enrolled in uni/have started the internship within 12 months of grad) was probably old information. Thanks for your response.
