HSMP approval available - What do to next

Post by amit_9aug » Fri Mar 07, 2008 5:52 pm

Guys,

I am currently on Work Permit Visa staying in UK. I applied for initial HSMP application on 29-Jan-2008 and got the HSMP approval letter from HO on 05-Mar-2008.
Now, i want to extend my stay as higly skilled migrant worker.

Is my assumption correct that i have to apply for LTR via Tier 1 (General) application form and the fees would be 350 pounds.
If i get LTR - what would be its duration 2 yrs or 3 yrs.

Any help is appreciated.

Thats right, you need to use the new form and submit. You will get 3 years extension since you are applying first time on HSMP(Tier 1).

Even I am in the same situation.
If I try to apply for my FLR, my Work permit will get expired.

I have a ques:

If i m applying for FLR and if gets rejected,
will it affect my work permit?
i mean will the work permit become invalid??

If you get FLR via Tier 1 application then your current EC or FLR will expire, else it will expire on its expiry date mentioned in the visa.
