Tier 2 ICT - Applying visa during cooling period

Post by sanp7 » Fri Aug 11, 2017 12:03 pm

Hi all,

I came back to India from London on 14th of Jan 2017. I was on a Tier 2 ICT (Long term staff migrant) visa.

I have been asked to travel again for work on the Tier 2 ICT (Long term staff migrant) visa. I know cooling period of 12 months applies to me. So I can only travel on or after 15th of Jan 2018. However I would like to know if I can start the visa processing during the cooling period. Can I generate the COS for the period after 14th of Jan 2018 in December 2017 and make a visa application in December this year?

Will making an application this year affect my chances of getting the visa?

Thanks for the reply.

What is the validity of the COS? Can i specify the date in COS to start after my cooling period ends if I generate it in December of this year?

Yes, that is possible. You have 3 months to utilize a COS once its assigned.
