Questions about application for ILR based on 10 years?

Hi guys! I held a student visa from June 1999 (first entered UK on September 1999) untill January 2007 and I'm holdin a WP visa at the moment. My application for the WP and FLR was sent before January 2007 via a solicitor and it took 2 months to be processed so my WP is valid from March 2007 untill March 2012 (I applied within the UK). My questions are:
1. When should I start to apply for ILR base on 10 years? Will it be on May 2009 or August 2009?
2. Will I have a "gap" problem in my application?

1. August 2009, as the clock starts from the time you enter the country
2. As long you filed your application before your old visa expires then no problem. However, keep hold of postal receipts.
