I just received my childrens Certicate of Registration, exactly 26 days after mailing in the applications (did not use NCS) to the Home Office.
I want to thank everyone on these boards, as the wealth of topics and comments has been an education. That education was used in putting my childrens application together. A gracious tip of the hat to JAJ, John, Victoria, Marco, Robinof london and the late PPRON who all have provided great insiget into the processes at IND, BIA or whatever name they now/will use.
I also have great respect for the Home Office for their prompt handling of what was a discretionary action not an entitlement. I was expecting the applications to take 8 to 14 weeks. They did a great job.
My only complaint is that after they returned my original documentation by secured mail, they sent the Certificates of Registration by first class mail that must have had a sticker at some time that said "Please twist, bend and fold this enevelope."
I have never received a piece of mail so badly damaged. For 400.00 you would think they could buy "Please Do Not Bend Stickers" or maybe put some firm coardboard in the envelope. Junk sales solicitations arrive in much better condition.
Does anyone know if a damaged certificate can be replaced at some point in time?
Any suggestions on getting creases in general out paper?
I will wait until after the kids get their passports as the passport office might want roll it in a ball first.
