karunanayake, are you and your husband legally married? Or "just" married religiously?

Sorry to press you, but this is important. The marriage ceremony in London, what sort of ceremony was that? Where was the ceremony held? At a Register Office? In a place of Public Worship? If so, what type of place?

And the marriage certificate that was issued, is it a standard UK marriage certificate?

Also, the length of your husband's visa? 6 months? Or 2 years? Or what?

In that case, whilst it is totally correct to say "No recourse to Public Funds" it is absolutely wrong to mention anything about work. So if it specifically mentions work on the visa then your husband needs to query that, before attempting to use the visa to move to the UK.

Or is it as simple as the visa not specifically saying he can work? Was your husband expecting the visa to specifically mention that he could work, and was surprised that it did not? But you say "it says on the piece of paper inside No work and No recourse to public funds". Are you talking about what is actually stuck on to a page in the passport? Or a loose piece of paper sent back with the passport? If so, what does the actual visa stuck into the passport say?

This is totally strange, I received the same spouse entry clearance last year in BHC, Colombo and it just says no recourse to public fund. But nothing mentioned about work. Does it actually says in your husband entry clearance sticker on the passport??? If yes, then he needs to get back to the BHC and query this.
