Do I have to go back to NZ?

Post by Viza? » Tue Mar 11, 2008 11:19 am

Hi there, I am currently living in Dublin on a working holiday visa which expires on April 1st and am wondering if I need to return to New Zealand to apply for a UK working holiday visa? I am 28 and will turn 29 in July.

I think it's that he's currently in Dublin on an Irish WHV, and would now like to apply for a UK WHV.

AHA!
Well if he can show country of residence as Ireland, then I don't think he has to return to the NZ.
I hate the imprecision and lack of details provided by people who want help.
either they give you nothing and you pull teeth or they give you loads of useless garbage.
eh bien

Has anybody got any experience about obtaining a UK WHV from Ireland without having to travel back to New Zealand, or thier country of origin?

I have just written a letter now to the British high commision, hopefully it will help. But I hate sitting around and waiting for replies. Any info in the meantime would be appreciated.

I think your best bet would be to see what the UK embassy says. Since you can prove legal residence in Ireland (with the WHV) I would think that they would accept the application, but don't quote me on it, I'm pretty much speculating.
