Decree Absolute After Second Marriage

Post by walker » Tue Aug 29, 2017 8:57 pm

All advice will be much appreciated.

Situation
First Marriage: July 1993
Arrived in the UK and lived with spouse and had children, etc.

Islamic Divorce in the UK: May 2015

Second Marriage in Pakistan: September 2015

Decree Absolute: for First Marriage: September 2016

Did not know about requiring Decree Absolute hence the same being obtained after second marriage. Will the fact that Decree Absolute post-dates second marriage cause any issue in relation to making spouse visa application?

Your second marriage will not be recognised for visa purposes as you were not "free to marry" at the time of the second marriage.

You will need to apply for a fiancé visa and remarry in the UK.

Search on these forums. You will find quite a few people who are in this situation.
