Period of Approved absence from Ireland on stamp 4

Post by michaelobibi » Fri Sep 08, 2017 9:10 am

My family came to Ireland in May 2017 and we have a stamp 4. My wife has traveled out of Ireland for about 62 days to see her sick mother. She came back and has traveled out of Ireland again to Nigeria to visit and may be there for about 7 or 8 weeks. What are the legal implications? Will she be allowed in at immigration on her return?

6 months is the maximum anyone on stamp 4 eu dam can stay out of the country in 1 year, however, you have to provide explanation for all of the stays longer than 6 weeks i.e. a month and half, while applying for the passport.
