Hi Ali

When your wife submitted the folder of evidence at the Embassy office, she should have been given a tracking number (it's somewhere on the receipt). You can use that number at the site below to track your wife’s application.

http://www.ukvacpk.com/

I'm not sure what the tracking number looks like; I'm trying to find that out myself too. (My husband submitted his application yesterday).

To which office did your wife submit her application?

Good luck, I hope you hear good news soon!

Actually, I think it may be this website you need to use instead:

http://www.visadropbox.com/mirpur.asp

If I'm wrong, I'm sure one of the other forum members will correct me.

yes same here. they said ten days but it been 11 days now. the most they can keep your case for is 15 days they have to give you a yes or no within 15 days.

i think its the first one you gave me i tried the second one my inputting my wifes passport number its invalid and didnt recognise it.

so i take your from mirpur, sunny old mirpur. me im from about 1 hour 20 mins before mirpur.

are you happy you got married back home

So, did you use your wife’s passport number as the tracking number on the first website I gave you? What was the status?

I’m about 20 minutes from Mirpur one way and he’s about an hour from Mirpur the other way. I’m guessing you’re from Dadyal?

Yeah, I’m well happy I got married back home in Pakistan, they know how to do weddings properly there. Here, you can’t have as big as celebrations as you can over there.

I've never heard of Bhimber.

No, ours wasn't that big of a do. We planned a small do, but my mum-in-law kind of went over the top and it was kinda bigger than we expected; but it was nice, really nice and not too over the top either.

No, I was querying if the passport number was the tracking number?..or if the tracking number was a copletely different set of numbers/characters unrelated to the passport number?

well the first website you gave me was asking for date of birth and a reference number. the reference number im presumming is on the recipt that they would have given to your hubby when he submitted it in the gerry office. enter those two and it should give the status.

its called gerrys becayse that the name of the company that run it. if you ring them they never pick. you have to go their and aks everyday. tell your hubby becayse what hey do is that they get it back and keep there for ages before actually telling you they do this because you have 28 days to exit the country when you get the visa the longer they keep it for means you have less time to get done what you need to do.

so if you go over the time you need to pay additional fee its basicaly them making money so they take 65,000 rupees as the fee and then additional fee. tell your hubb to check every day literally

going lunch now...speak later.....................do you work also

Well, that explains it and now I know.. lol.

Won't they get annoyed and might it not cause problems with the application?

True say, true say... They'd spend all day drinking chai and chewing on paan!

I work in I.T. The Civil Service is a good place to work, less chance of being made redundant and the pay can't be bad either.

What you having for lunch? Dahl and roti? Actually, having said that, I might go back to my place during lunch and make myself a parantha; it's been ages since I had one of them.

I'm on the opposite side to you, the east of the Midlands. I work for an American bank in their I.T. department, so basically I'm a geek by profession..

How did you meet your wife? Is she worried about adjusting to life here or has she been here before? She's really going to miss her family, :(.

It's a long story, but cut short, it goes a little something like this:

Once upon a time..

... in a land far away...

He spotted me from a wedding video and he was smitten. Not long after I went to Pak for a little holiday; I hadn’t been for over a decade and I really wanted to see my grandparents and other relatives. His family are family friends and we were always around at each others places. During the time I was there we all went on trips and did the tourist-type things together. We just got on really well with each other from day one. It was funny; it was as if we had been friends for ages. We’re totally on each others wavelengths; something I thought was never possible between someone from back there and me. We just clicked with one another. It’s uncanny how we just understand each other and know what the other is thinking; it’s like we're telepathic twins, lol. He’s such a joker and he cracks me up; most of the time we spent together, I was in stitches with laughter.

Towards the end of my holiday he spoke to his mum about me, who spoke to my mum, who spoke to my grandparents, who spoke to his parents (you know how it goes). Then I was spoken to and asked what I thought about it. I thought he was a great guy who’s down to earth and someone whom I get on really well with. I discovered all the qualities in him that you would want in a prospective husband and the father of your kids. So I said yes and the next thing you know, we’re engaged. We then spent the best part of the last 10 months on the phone to one another and any time that I wasn’t on the phone to him I was working hard to pay my phone bill (!) I returned to Pakistan last month and got married a few weeks ago.

As for the "happily every after".. InshAllah, there will be one!

Hey, do you know how many digits/characters there are in the application/reference number? What does it look like?
Whereabouts is it on the reciept?

Thanks!!

Yeah, we should hopefully get a reply Monday/Tuesday. It takes a while to get through to them on the number.
