This is my first post on this site and I was not sure if there was a thread relating to the same topic. I did a search but found that none was giving details specific to my query.
I am to marry my boyfriend (of 3 years) in Brazil by the end of April. I would like to apply for a spouse visa however our case is a little complex due to him overstaying in the UK for over a year and being deported.
Does he have a chance to re-enter the United Kingdom? If he does, what would be the best way to deal with the fact that he has broken immigration laws previously? I was advised to get a solicitor specialising in deportation/reentry cases but before I resort to such an expensive measure, I would like to hear some advice from others who have had a similar experience.
Any response will be appreciated. I am a little lost as I have never come across immigration problems before.
