Can non-EU FM claim Zorgtoeslag for compulsory health insurance

Post by Bobthemoggie » Sat Sep 23, 2017 12:05 pm

Hi Guys

EU cit & non-EU FM (Adult dependent ascents) are living together, in EU host state in Schengen area
EU cit is working & income is above min. income threshold.

I think- Insurance contribution becomes retroactively payable from date for both EU cit & non-EU FM moves into the host state.

FM holds the Article 10 RC from host state.
Is it possible to claim relief under Zorgtoeslag, as old aged don't have their own income.

Any idea on this?
Also in general are non-EU immediate family members eligible for any kind of benefit (tax reliefs/credit etc), in general.

Cheers

To clarify, the OP is a British citizen resident in the Netherlands with his non-EEA parents.
I am not a lawyer or immigration advisor. My statements/comments do not constitute legal advice. E&OE. Please do not PM me for advice.

For benefit of all, will keep it broad and query about scenario- EU cit with non-EU FM in the host state where Health insurance is mandatory for all residents alike [mostly Schengen zone EU countries like- NL]

Cheers,

Wouldn't be this may categorize under "drawing public funds" and can affect future RC application or even the existing.

I would like to find out, not means-tested benefits, which doesn't fall in strict benefit category.

Just for elaboration, child benefit is not means tested & its same for everybody.
On similar lines, are there any similar benefits / discounts etc for 65+ in the NL?
Like- 40% discount in train travel, any equivalent of Dial-a-ride, something else which is not core benefit based on financial situation.

Cheers,

Thanks for your response.

Noticed following condition on RC
" Een meer dan aanvullend beroep op algemene middelen kan gevolgen hebben voor het verblijfsrecht"
The note appeals general funds. A more than supplementary appeal to general funds may have an effect on the right of residence.

What does exactly means & what is included & what is excluded?

Cheers
