Significance of expiry date on HSMP approval letter

Post by joydeep » Mon Mar 17, 2008 4:52 am

Hi

I wanted to know the significance of expiry date on HSMP approval letter. Does it mean that I should be in UK latest by that date or should I apply for EC latest by that date.

The reason I am asking this is because I wanted to go to UK as late as possible due to personal reasons. The approach I thought is to apply for EC about 1 month before the expiry date on the HSMP Approval Letter. This would ensure that I get the EC done before my HSMP expires. Then I would have some more time(I guess 3 months) to reach UK.

I know similar topic has been posted earlier alsp but I was not able to draw a clear conclusion from them.

Appreciate your help.

you can not be in UK until you have your EC done ( via HSMP route)!

so this expiry date ( which is six month from the date HSMP is granted),

is for filing for EC.
