@Sundas, @Discretion, @Khiyah003 thanks for encouraging words.
I pray that we all receive positive outcome soon.I am in the process of buying a property and this is really holding me up. I only decided to start this process without ILR as its a new built and there's only one of the house type I love left.
The anxiety is too much and I pray for peace of mind in the name of Jesus Christ as we wait.

Hi all,

I sent my SET (Protection) route application in 9th August, and received an acknowledgement letter 1 week later....

However I need to ask the people who got there indefinite leave about the indefinite starting date, will it start from the last date of your 5 years or it will start from the date of decision.

Anyone can help with that

Thanks in Advance
Thanks

Correct yes (unless you are married to a British citizen, then you don't have to wait 12 months).

hellow.
it happend to every one so i dont think so its disappointing.
HO needs time to consider application and time they take to consider,is certanity and uncertanity and during this period nobody knows about outcome so how is it possible to
apply for next stage without spending required time.
further, All time between applying and decision is also counted lawfully so why u r not
ILLIGALE during that time?????? because HO needs to make decision and also count
ur time lawfully.
Any ways have patient,good luck.

Hi

In my case my 5 years stay expire on 31/08/2017 then roughly 6 month waiting time for the indefinite plus I need to spend 12 month ILR so to reach the stage where I can apply for Citizenship I need to wait 18 month
So basically if I got positive decision within 6 month that waiting time is legal but will not be covered in anywhere document
So I’m not disappointed because the HO take their time and study applications but the case if they accept my ILR application so my ILR should start from the last stay end ideally it should start 01/09/2017

It doesn't work like that.

You only have ILR status when the application is decided. This is NOT the same as HO 'accepting' your ILR application, which is 'received' not 'accepted' in the definition of 'accepted'. HO receiving it, requesting biometrics, taking the fee is all STANDARD procedures before they can process and work on your application. This applies to ALL routes applying for ILR.

Even if HO 'accepts' (receives) your applications, it can still be refused.

Hello kinan

Due to ur questions and let me add to it. Example my 5years status finished 21/05/17 and i applied for ILR 25/04/17 and my case got decided 11/09/17 and my BRP issued and started counting 15/09/17 so far so good from 15 or 16/09/2018 that is when am qualifie for CITIZENSHIP. so i hope that will help our members.
Thanks

It doesn’t work like that but that what it should be, when anyone got positive decision and he didn’t break any of his visa date or overstayed his visa the date should be carried on…
The decision should consider the date and regarded the waiting time in ILR of course only for who got positive decision

Then suggest find a country that does work like but it doesn't in the UK. Complaining about it is not going to make an ounce of difference either.

I am not your 'dear' so please refrain from referring to me a such. Complaining about something such as this (ILR valid date) will make no difference at all and you are wrong. Date of ILR grant is the date of decision. ILR is not an entitlement or a right either.

Kindly direct your 'complaint' to HO if you feel that aggrieved by it and desist from posting about your 'complaint' on the forum where everyone is waiting for decisions for various applications.

Hi

Responding to the last comment made by CR001 to Kinan.

I have read through the previous entries and I believe he has a fair question and the explanations are fine as well. However, suggesting someone to find another country where the rules might be different is not what one wants. I am sure we can all appreciate that we have our own reasons due to which we seek information and advice. if not then there would have been no reason of communication here.

So I would suggest to appreciate all questions and issues and be respectable.

regards,
HKN
