Umbrella Agency and their working

Hi all.

I'm in the process of applying Tier 2 general by Umbrella sponsor. I've been told by agent I've to pay agency fees and I can start working as IT contractor.

I would like to understand if i can start working through my LTD company or i have to work through umbrella company only. What are the chances of changing job and how it works, appreciate if you shed light on this

This is illegal and is NOT permitted on Tier 2 General. You cannot contract through an umbrella company on a Tier 2 General.

You are ONLY permitted to work as PAYE directly for a sponsor, who DOES NOT charge a 'fee' out of your earnings.

Expressly forbidden, Tier 2 employment is employer-employee only, no agent, intermediary or middlemen.

You cannot do it and neither can you work via your own Ltd, only directly for the T2 Sponsor.

The end client has a duty to check your eligibility to work on site or face fines. About 18 months ago I had a guy removed from site after he lied and was found to have only a Tier 2. It's especially risky as contractors have to be insured for professional indemnity and obviously these won't be valid, opening up a whole new world of pain.
