Its good as long you got some replyDRS1983 wrote:My husband has been invited for interview end of the month at Islamabad for his settlement visa.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Im very anxious about it. Have BHC been interviewing applicants lately?
Kindly also tell me after his interview, in how many days would they let him know their decision? Would he have to call Gerrys himself to find out?
Many Thanks
Rani
Yes, it is a good sign; at least your husband will get the chance to clarify any doubts the ECO may have about your application as opposed to just refusing your application outright without giving you a chance to explain/clarify the criteria on which they refuse your application.DRS1983 wrote:is it still a good sign to be called for interview?
It’s because they were successful that they didn’t need to be interviewed.DRS1983 wrote:In Pakistan these days it seemed they weren't interviewing applicants who were sucessful
Look at it this way DRS...DRS1983 wrote:It’s because they were successful that they didn’t need to be interviewed.
Thats making me stresss!!
Nope, not heard anything yet (and "no news is good news"). My Husband says he will drop into the Gerry office tomorrow. InshAllah, good news awaits us...DRS1983 wrote:Have you heard from them yet?
I completely agree with Sammie. At least your husband has the opportunity to physically meet them and clarify any misunderstandings that the ECO may have rather than a straight refusal. I know that in India at least it's virtually impossible to meet ECOs at the British High Commission without being called for an interview. So I would say an invitation for an interview is definitely a good thing!DRS1983 wrote:Salaam Parvez, Princess & gollwood
Thanks for your help, Parvez is it still a good sign to be called for interview? In Pakistan these days it seemed they weren't interviewing applicants who were sucessful.........

Famous last words Ali, famous last words!! Don't jinx (nazar) it!ali541 wrote:well for pakistan it isnt. i cant remember the last time anyone who i knew or througb family who had applied to bring either their hubby or wife over ever had to go for a interview in pakistan. i think they only call your for an interview if your documents are either missing or if their is some inconsistency in your file
Other then that they normaly just stamp it
That was unfortunate. Do you know why he was refused?Amia wrote:Well my sisters husband was called for an interview and he was rejected.
Amia, sorry to hear that. Was your sister's husband rejected because your sister is on benefits? Are you referring to the same case?Amia wrote:I am new to all of this, and it may sound like a stupid question, but i want to know can a spouse visa be refused solely on the basis that the spouse in the uk is on benefits?
tyvm for any replies and sorry if it sounds like a stupid question.
