Tier 1 Ent 50K extension -Employee requirement - Urgent

Hello All,
You all are being very supportive whenever the question arises

I have a little confusion on the employment requirement for Tier 1 Enterpreneur extension:

The extension application have been in process for last 9 months. so far my employee has been working for me. Now she is travelling and wants to leave the job, so I was wondering that Is it mandatory to have an employee while the application is in process or awaited for the decision.
