Does Non EU spouse require visa?

Hi Team,
hope you all are doing good. I am a British citizen. My wife is from Asia. She is in uk as ILR dependent since 2016. But we are planning to relocate to Ireland. I understand that she doesn't need visa if we travel together .. but she has a plan to visit her home country before reaching Ireland
So mostly she would travel with our baby alone & I might receive them at Dublin airport. May I know in this case does she need visa?

She should apply for a visa.

How will she board a plane with no evidence of the visa and right to enter Ireland?

She will need Irish visa to board a flight, unless she is holding a connecting flight to UK, and an Indian citizen, in which case, she will be exempted from a Transit visa.

Better to apply for the visa in the UK before she departs.

Thank you so much CR001. & Obie for your replies. Actually was bit confused after reading "with short stay visa acquired for Ireland few nationals can visit the UK & vice versa" .. since my wife has a valid UK visa just thought to get confirmation. Thank you so much .. will apply for Irish visa.
