NARIC assessment

Post by Antonka » Sun Apr 11, 2004 7:54 pm

Hello,
could smb tell me with this NARIC assessment of quaifications - what is the procedure, demands, etc.
Since I have investigated NARIC web-site (www.naric.org.uk) & found only general info i.d. "send us the photocopies and translations of your diploma..."
I`d also like to know on what criteria they assess and so on...

And one more question: Have smb an experience to hire a migration lawyer and what can be the real use of it ???????

Thank you everybody for such a helpful forum!!!

Hi there,

UK NARIC is an abbreviation for UK National Academic Recognition and Information Centre.

It is a body that gives a UK accreditation to overseas certificates. It has nothing to do with an admission procedure to a school, college or university.

It is not directly correlated to immigration issues.

NARIC telephone number has been recently changed to 0870 9904088. It is not updated on their web site.

If you are calling from overseas you need to dial 0044 870 9904088.
If you are calling from the USA you need to dial 011 44 870 9904088.

Your call will be held in a queue. It may take you long to be answered. This may cost you a lot of money if you are calling from abroad.

UK NARIC is run by ECCTIS Ltd. The address is

UK NARIC
ECCTIS Ltd
Oriel House
Oriel Road
Cheltenham
Glos.
GL50 1XP
United Kingdom

If you would like to have your overseas certificate accredited:

1-You will need to send a translation copy of your certificate.
2-It MUST be stamped by the British consulate in your country.
3-Cheque for £35.25 payable to ECCTIS
4-A covering letter stating the reason of the accreditation.
5-A cheque covering overseas postage, if you are applying from abroad.

In response to your second question, the solicitor’s fee depends on the case OR is charged by hour.

The rate is currently £110 to £170 per hour Plus VAT.
You can have an advice over the net for £39.50
You can have a personal half an hour appointment for £50 plus VAT

Barrister fees are higher. They are usually contacted through solicitors.

The Immigration advisory service is free. Their web sit address is
http://www.iasuk.org/

If you would like further assistance I am happy to send you a private message upon your request ; as more details are beyond the policy of this board.

Good luck
