2.5years about to expire, what next

Post by simible17 » Mon Oct 16, 2017 10:26 pm

Hello,
I'm still finding my feet on this forum and i'm very appreciative as this forum has been helpful to my family and friends.
I have a 2.5years leave to remain as a parent to children who are British citizens( under 18). In this time, I am now married to a british citizen who is also the father of our children. My leave to remain will expire at the end of December and i'm very confused as to what i need to apply for next. Do i need to apply to extend my current leave to remain or do i apply for ILR . I've read the home office website,i might as well be reading gibberish. I would be glad for advice on the right way to go. Thank you in advance.

Did you inform HO of your change in circumstances when you got married?

You need to apply for an extension for another 2.5 years but you now do not qualify for the FLR(FP) Parent route anymore.

It depends on whether you/partner meet the financial requirements of £18,600pa or not and whether you meet the English requirement.

Hi, Did you submit any language certificates for the first 2.5 years flr (fp) visa? I have a similar situation and I submitted a question in this forum but unfortunately no one was able to answer me, and your situation seems the closest to mine.

Thanks,

I also forgot to ask that if the annual 18600 cannot be met, what other option is available. I've done and passed my A2 today at the Hammersmith branch. Thank you for your reply.

....or savings over £16,000 to make up any shortfall in earnings.

Joint income will be considered. Are you working? What are your spouse's annual earnings :?:
