Incorrect Visa Expiry reminder from Home Office

Post by cofe » Thu Oct 19, 2017 4:16 pm

Hello,

My dad who had visited me between June and September this year has received a visa expiry reminder from the home office. He has already left the UK, so not sure why he is getting this.

I have clicked the link they have sent in the email and mentioned he has returned back and also provided his ticket details and also sent an email to the complaints team, but haven't received any acknowledgement for both.

Has anyone else had a similar experience and is there any number to contact to speak to someone on this.

Please advise.

Thanks

What email address did it come from?

What weblink/website did it take you to?

Hi,

It came from hocommunications@communications.gov.uk and it took me to https://expiryreminder.homeoffice.gov.uk plus some suffixes which I think relates to his email or visa.

The email had my dads name and the Visa Expiry date as correct.

But somehow it’s not recorded that he has left the country.

Thanks

Did you check the validity before clicking on the link? It could be a scam. I have never heard of HO email each visitor telling them this and can't recall anyone posting about this on the forum.
Official Home Office email addresses are always in one of two formats:

name.surname@ukba.gsi.gov.uk
name.surname@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
