Register a child as BC

Good morning everyone

Im applying to register my new born child as a British citizen via MN1 form "section 1 (3)"
and as I called the nationality checking service to book an appointment, I've been informed that an extra fee will be applied if Im willing to apply for a British passport for the child.

My question is;
can I apply the MN1 form & British Passport application simultaneously?

as I was not sure if that what was meant

please clarify with many thanks

Yes you can apply for both at the same time through NCS.
