176 Visa

If I get a 176 Visa on state nomination, but I subsequently do not reside in the sponsoring state for 2 years, does anyone know what wil be the consequence?

I've been told that there is no legal or technical machanism for the visa to be cancelled. Does anyone know if this is the position?
