Dear all,

Today, my wife went for her bio-metrics interview at the UK embassy in Bangkok. Hopefully in the coming days, weeks or months we get the result we are after.

I first started out reading these boards daily for insights on whole application process which has been a great help. This whole process has been stressful although now I am feeling happy.

As time goes on I will update accordingly. It would be nice to hear from others who have gone through this recently.

I would like to know their progress. I am reading timelines of around 3 - 4 months.

We haven't heard anything yet. I am hoping for this Friday. My wife doesn't think we will get one until they have decided.

I am going to apply tomorrow and I am weighing whether I should scan with the vfs or send documents to sheffield? Did the scanning take long?

My wife scanned them. There wasn't much difference in the way of cost. My thinking was scanning would surely be quicker than sending.

If you apply tomorrow then our applications will be decided roughly the same time.

I'm about to apply with my wife in January. We are planning on sending our documents separately. She will apply in Bangkok and i will post all the supporting stuff direct. Has anyone done it this way successfully?

Conflicting opinions on this, apparently she will be given a code i can add to my paperwork to link them up in Sheffield?

I am not sure I can't really help you there. I sent all my documents to her in Thailand to be then scanned back over to Sheffield.

We have applied on the 16th October 2017 and are still waiting. We got an email stating that our documents were being prepared to be assessed by the ECO on the 27th October 2017. We did non-priority service and scanned the documents.

It's a long process, we do regret doing non-priority as we have seen many people alike doing priority have got their decisions quicker. Although there is no guarantee that yours will be dealt with any quicker.
