Absence from the UK SET(M) 5 Year Partner Route

Hi Guys,

Hope you can help.

We are in the process of getting all our documents and evidence ready for my partners ILR SET(M) 5 year route, having gone through our extension to remain 2.5 years ago.

There is one question on the application form that is causing us some confusion. On page 41/42 of the form there is a question asking:

9.13 How long have you lived in the UK?

My partner has been living here in the UK continuously since Sept 2009, originally on a student visa, but has since changed to 5 year partner route in late 2012 and with no total absence greater than 3 weeks in any of the years from that date up to now.

The next question states:

Please provide details of all periods of absence from the UK during that time:

Does this mean we have to declare all or any Holidays take since 2009?

Weekend breaks etc., 7 day holidays, 14 day holidays ? - or does the absence mean not holidays, but a longer period of time spent away from the UK, eg for work or living in another country- which we haven't done.

The only time we have spent outside the UK is for holidays.

Please Help!!

I think they assume ALL of the absences, be it work or holiday related.

ALL absences out of the UK are absences and all must be declared as the form requires.

The form does not ask for 'holiday absence' or 'work absence' does it?

Hi,

My understanding is you would just answer any time you have left the UK and returned, there is a box that you would list your dates and reasons.



Also, in regards to the first question, my understanding is when you first entered the UK, provided you didn't leave the UK and make an outside application for entry clearance again.
