Good evening everyone. Please help. I will be applying for ILR soon. Please help with clarification regarding the form.

“ For the period before you were granted leave as a Tier 2 migrant, documents showing that you met the relevant requirements of the immigration rules.”

What documents do I need to send?

Thank you very much.

Also, it has been answered here:

This question would only apply if your ILR residence period is made up of LTR under more than one qualifying immigration category. For example Tier1 + Tier2. If not it would be N/A.

Thank you for the quick response sm12.

Please enlighten my understanding. During the period of 5 years, I have had 3 employers altogether. The first employment who issued my initial tier 2 visa did not start, never started. I was able to apply for a new visa (change employer) within 60 days of arriving in the UK.

Do I need to submit documents regarding my previous employment history? Especially with the first one which was not started at all?

Thank you 😊.

You should provide documents to cover the entire period that you are using for settlement.

Have a look at this thread of a member who had more than one employer:

Link for topic from 2013 removed due to numerous rule changes in the last 4 years.

Thank you for the response sm12.

Everyone, query about the absences please. My visa start date was May 2012 but arrived in the UK July 2012. I will be applying in Nov 2017 which is past the 5years qualifying period. Do I need to include a letter explaining the period between May 2012 and July 1012? Or there is no need to justify it?

Please help. Thank you.

The qualifying period starts from the issue date of entry clearance I think, not the date of entry.

Also:

Absences which will not break
continuity in the continuous period
This section tells you when absences will not break continuity when calculating if the
continuous period requirement has been met.
Period between the issue of entry clearance and entering
the UK
The period between entry clearance being issued and the applicant entering the UK
may be counted toward the qualifying period. Any absences between the date of
issue and entry to the UK are considered an allowable absence. This period will
count towards the 180 days allowable absence in the relevant 12 month period. The
applicant does not need to provide evidence to demonstrate the reason for delayed
entry.
If the delay is more than 180 days, you can only include time after the applicant
entered the UK in the continuous period calculation.

Hi Everyone!

Good afternoon. I am filling in the Set O form at present. I was on Tier 4 (student) visa March 2011-May 2012. Went home to home country then came back on a Tier 2 visa in July 2012. Current visa expires in 6 months.

Please clarify, 7.13 How long have you lived in the UK? Do I include my time in the UK on a student visa?

Thank you very much.
