Tier 2 extention process and costs

Hi All,

First I'd like to thank this forum for being very helpful.

I'm in the process of extending my Tier 2(g) with the same company I'm working for. I'm waiting for company to give me the CoS no. Today they told me that I have to pay all expenses to company for this extention including:
1-Solicitor fee for helping company with CoS allocation: £495+VAT
2-Solicitor fee for helping with Tier 2, main applicant:£725+VAT
3-Solicitor fee for helping with Tier 2, dependent applicant:£250+VAT
4- UKVI CoS issuing fee £199
5- Tier 2 application fee
6- IHS

I have two questions:
1- is this normal or fair that I pay for items 1 and 4?
2- do you think by having CoS, filling two forms worth paying solicitors £975+VAT(items 2 and 3)? I.e. Can I do it myself?

2-Solicitor fee for helping with Tier 2, main applicant:£725+VAT online application is straight forward and simple, you can do yourself
3-Solicitor fee for helping with Tier 2, dependent applicant:£250+VATsame as above,
you could include in single application
4- UKVI CoS issuing fee £199depends on employer, but most of the time you will pay
5- Tier 2 application feeyou
6- IHSyou
