Biometrics & Passport Submission (Location): Lahore
Biometrics & Passport Submission (Date):10-May-2017
Application Forwarded To British High Commission On :

Supporting Documents Sent To Sheffield On : 15-May-2017.
Supporting Documents Received Back From Sheffield On : 29-May-2017
(Sent them complete set of filed "Originals+Photocopies of each document and what a waste of time and money it was as they took some out, made photocopies of their own and returned both sets in very disorganised and untidy fashion).

Sponsor Contacted By UKVI (if applicable): No
Employer contacted By UKVI (if applicable): No

Sponsor Contacted UKVI: Phoned and emailed several times since, response: awaiting decision. What a waste of money. Also wrote to MP and Home secretary but no luck so far. 12 week period is well and truly over.
UPDATE: 21St August: Sorry to sound so negative everyone! In the last couple of months, wrote to my local Tory MP (absolute waste of time as after initial promise to help, the case worker has not even responded to about 10/12 emails. Dead silent), Wrote to Amber Rudd, the Home Secretary at the same time who forwarded the letter to UKVI who in turn wrote to remind us of the 12 weeks time line. No return address, phone number or email mentioned. Its like talking to a brick wall.
Kept on wasting money on the phone calls (best way to make money, open a call cetre for the Home Office and keep giving the same answer to callers "awaiting a decision" or similar. Same fate met for all the emails we sent. Painful and useless exercises..
Lastly, recently wrote to Afzal Khan Shadow Home secretary (Immigration) who regretted not being able to help as he is not our local MP. In reply, I reminded him that he is a shadow minister(immigration) and may be he should raise this delay issue with Home Office on behalf of every one going through this agony. Awaiting reply which might not be encouraging, I am afraid. Lets See.
It seems like bringing down Berlin Wall was a piece of cake in front of all this.
So where do we go from here?

11 Sept 2017: Update: Sadly nothing much to report. Even after FOUR monts and having knocked on every possible door including the Shadow Minister (who felt unable to help as I am not his constituent).
Last email response from UKVI about a week ago, mentions the case is marked as "Urgent". HOW

SATISFYING !!!.
My opinion about Call centre is that these guys have a standard set of answers like "awaiting a decision, escalated or advanced in the queue. They don not seem to have any authority.

UPDAT 23 October 2017: Hello every one! It has been an precedented long delay for a straight forward spouse settlement visa where all the right boxes were ticked and every requirement fulfilled at he time of application. You can see how many doors we knocked on with out much help. Like all applicants, got an email about 31st Oct dead line.

Decision Made (As Per Covering Letter Issued By Home Office): Received an email from UKVI a couple of days ago to say that a decisuion has been made and that the delay was because of backgroun=d checks etc etc, (which is just an excuse as far as I am concerned).

Contacted For Collection : 23-10-2017
Collection Made : 23-10-2017
Decision Of Application : Granted Alhamdolillah
Validity Of Visa: 24/10/2017 to 23/11/2017.
Good Luck to those who are still waiting.

Hi,

VISA GRANTED!!

FINAL UPDATE:

•Spouse Visa Application: Husband (PRIORITY)
•Online Application submitted on 26/09/2017
•Biometrics at Islamabad on 29/09/2017
•Documents sent to Sheffield on 05/10/2017
•Received back from Sheffield on 11/10/2017

•I Called UKVI on 17/10/2017 to notify them of email correction and status update.
•I emailed them on 30/10/2017 for status update. They replied 31 10/2017 (morning) saying application still under process
• I received a direct email from the Gerry in Islamabad for passport collection 31/10/2017 (afternoon). This was a very weird email. It wasn't from the UKVI. It didn't have my husbands name or GWF reference number. The sender was "srisbvac" and at the end of email it said it was from Gerry Islamabad.
•on 01/11/2017 My husband called Islamabad and found that the passport had arrived. Later that day Islamabad Gerry called my husband twice to come and pick up the passport.
• My husband picked up his passport 02/11/2017 and Alhamdulilah Visa had been granted and was starting from the 6/11/2017

Please note. It took us 24 working days from Biometrics to picking up the Passport. Alhamdulilah we were lucky not to have waited so long. The UKVI didn't call the sponsor nor the employer. They didn't respond via email for receiving the documents or anything else. Totally silent not even a peep from them.

PLEASE NOTE: some of you may be aware that Mirpur Gerry charge extra 10,000 rupees to submitting biometrics. This is because they have to send the documents to Islamabad so they charge you for postage. If you can get to Islamabad and want to save the extra 10,000 rupees (you pay this when you submit the online application) then select Islamabad Gerry for biometrics.

Good luck everyone. In shaa Allah keep praying and have faith in Allah swt.

***FINAL UPDATE 6 November 2017***
I am one of the applicants from May 2017. This has been a furious journey to be honest. Please note I did NOT receive any emails like “not straightforward” or “on Hold” etc. Multiple enquiries were made throughout the journey. The call center is just a money making machine, their escalations are just to keep you hinged. We also involved the MP but no use at all.
My advice to everyone is to be patient and stop wasting money in calling them, they will decide your application when they feel like it that’s all. At least in my case, they stuck to their 31st October email.

Total working days from Biometric submission: 129

Decision Made (As Per Covering Letter Issued By Home Office): 2nd November 2017, We didn’t get any letter. They responded to one of our inquiry.

Collection Made+: 6th November 2017

**Final Update**
Oh boy this has been a well hell of a journey with UKVI. anyway, i like to give the voluntary advice to all future blog readers who may read my timeline: make sure you read the immigration rules twice and prepare application yourself (do not involve solicitor unless your case is extremely complexed.) remain patient and do not beg to MP(s), home secretary(s) etc and most importantly do not bother calling the call center unless you want to waste your money. I never had any response of my complaint from home office. Help from MP(s) and home secretary were meaningless and an email to Sheffield visa office was totally ignored. Felt really bad if i be brutally honest.

Those who are still waiting for more than 6 months and their applications are straight forward may chose to send UKVI a "Pre-Action Protocol Letter" https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ial-review. I did send mine on 1st Nov 2017 and demanded a response within 3 days and did receive a response within couple of days shockingly on Sunday where they confirmed that decision has been made and issued.

I hope you find my timeline helpful and good luck!
