Guys,

One quick question. Is there a 28 days rule introduced recently? I was reading through one of the forums and it says that after getting the EC we should enter the UK within 28 days, otherwise we might face problem when we apply for PR at the end of 5 years.

Is it correct? Also whether it is 28 days or 28 working days?

Could any of you please share your thoughts.

Hi froends,

Can any one provide the following information

1. How to apply / search for jobs from India
2. How to show job search results while applying for EC.
3. Is accomodation proof mandatory? is it enough to submit the friends accomodation details? In that our name should be mentioned?
4. Is Savings amount should be in account / salary credit information is enough ? Because I do not maintain the amount in account.
5. If we have house and flats on our names, is those document enough for saving proofs?

Please help me.

Making initial entry into UK

Post by Lavanya » Thu Mar 27, 2008 10:17 am

Hi All ,

I got my HSMP approved on 1st week of January 2008 .
Applied for EC - 14th Jan
EC Stamped on Passport From - 23rd Feb

So in this case is there any minimum number of days within which I have to make an entry into UK , since I was planning to move there on April but due to some reasons it is getting postponed to June 1st week .

So is there any time frame to make a initial entry or I can make an entry at anytime in the 2yr period mentioned .

Regards,
Lavanya

Hi,

I had submitted my EC application on Feb 14th at VFS office, Bangalore. The VFS online
status still shows that "application is forwarded to Embassy". Actually I applied for my EC and dependent visa for my wife together.

I showed the bank balance of Rs.4,25,000 and assets worth 15 lakhs. Will that be sufficient?

I have received 2 lakhs to my bank account after that from my brother. Will it be a problem?

I submitted my payslips with employer seal on it, but no signuture. Whether that can cause any issue?

I am worried as the result gets delayed. Will they call us through phone or for interview if there is any problem?

Thanks,
Ravi.

That means march applicants are way behind your application as you applied in feb.
Any idea if any march applicants have got EC result? Or yours case is exception and taking long?

Called BHC now. They said it takes atleast a week.BHC officer said that currently they are processing applications which they received on 27th feb.VFS website shows that my application was forwarded to BHC on 25th feb but officer say they received it only on feb 28th. No consistency in details provided by VFS and BHC !!!

I gotta question for those who have applied for EC but will not receive the decision before 1 Apr 08... will they have to reapply under the tier1 scheme? or will their process continue as it used to?

There is no need to apply using Tier 1 as the old process is applicable for all those with a valid HSMP approval. Please find below the reply from VFS regd the same.

"Thank you for contacting VFS UK Visa Helpdesk.

With regard to your query,

You need to apply HSMP using the VAF2 form.
Visa fee would be 16000/- for each.
If any one who has already received the HSMP approval can apply anytime before or after April they will follow the old process and HSMP visa will be for 2 years.

We hope the above information has been of help to you. If you require any further assistance please feel free to contact us. Our contact details are as given below.

So does that mean the the 3 month maintenance fund points requirement would not be applicable to anyone applying even in April with the old HSMP approval letter?

Yeah. Ideally since we are applying in the older process, older rules should be applicable :)

You can as well send a mail to VFS guys and ask them. They replied very promptly to my mail.

I have mailed the VFS guys and waiting for their response. However in the transitional arrangements section on the official BIA website it clearly states the following category:

"If you have made an application for entry clearance as a highly skilled migrant before 1 April 2008 in India only, and it has not been decided before that date"

On the website it says that the people in the above category would have to apply for Tier 1 with the reduced fees. Dunno if the VFS guys are right or the website!!

Even I enquired for the same reason. I got my HSMP approval on 11th March and received the docs on 20th. Even I was confused abt the same things and checked with them as I knew that I wouldnt be getting my EC approval before 1st April. Please find below the questions I asked them in the mail, clearly mentioning that I intended to apply on 28th March.

Do I need to apply using the VAF2 form or Tier 1 (General) Migrant application?

What is the fee that I need to pay for myself and a dependant?

Since the decision would be taken only after 1st April, what rules would be applicable for me to show as proof of assets and for what duration will the visa be granted (2 years or 3 years)?

What would be the changes if I want to apply after 1st April?
