Husband visiting on a 6 months visiting visa

Post by Whitnified » Mon Nov 13, 2017 9:15 am

Hi house, I will be grateful if my questions can be answered.
First my now husband applied for a visiting visa before we got married and was granted and now that we are married will he still be able to visit on this visa? We plan on submitting a settlement visa in February next year and we are planning on him visiting Jan/Feb and when he is leaving I travel with him to Nigeria to make the application and attend biometric.

My second question is regarding our relationship. We met in 2013 when we were students here in the UK then 6 months after we broke up as I wasn't ready for a committed relationship then. Fast forward to 2017 we met again and decided to give our relationship a second trial which has then led to marriage. Will this breakup cause an issue with his visa?

Thank you

Please someone help with my query..ill be very grateful.

I am worried as I don't want a situation where he will be denied entry and sent back thinking he will overstay. He applied for the visa before we got married in Nigeria and he didn't tell me because he wanted it to be a surprise as I would have advised him on what to fill on the form. He filled coming for holiday.

He will be taking a letter from his employer, pay slip and a return ticket to show that he will be returning and also my flight ticket showing I am travelling back to Nigeria with him as we intend to apply for a spouse visa once we arrive in Nigeria and I can bring all supporting documents with me back to the UK to post to Sheffield. we have no intention of bringing problems to ourselves by going the wrong route when I know I meet all requirement as the spouse.

Another angle is if he doesn't use the visit visa AT ALL, so as to avoid the above worries, will the ECO query our settlement visa as to why he never came to visit me even though he obtained a UK visit visa.

Did he mention your relationship in the visitor visa application?

Hi Casa, thanks for replying

No he didn't mention our relationship. He just said friends. He takes things too lightly which is why this situation has saddened me as I would have been able to direct him properly since I've read so much on this board.

In this situation what do you think is our best option?

You may have a problem in proving the history of your relationship when he claimed you were only friends when he applied for the visitor visa.

Thank you Casa, I hope we will be able to explain this situation in our cover letter as we do have communication evidence etc. Also do you think him not visiting at all will have a problem with our settlement application.
Thank you for your help so far, I really appreciate.

Not using the visitor visa won't be an issue, but you will have to justify the reason he lied about your relationship in the visitor visa application, which may be a tough challenge. All visa applications are cross-referenced.

I was in a similar situation but it wasn't a problem I applied for a visitor visa and never mentioned my wife . Renewed the visa from 6months to 2 years visit visa Later applied for marriage visitor visa which valids for 6 months then back to visit visa 5 years before I changed it to settlement visa they never mentioned it .... make sure you have enough relationship evidence.

Thanks Pappiz03, did you use the first 6 months visit visa to enter the UK I mean the one u didn't mention your wife and were you questioned at the airport?
Just want to know our best option as I would have really loved if he could visit and meet my friends and family again before spouse application. thank you once again.

Annual salary instead of Gross annual salary on employer letter

Post by Whitnified » Thu Feb 01, 2018 5:17 pm

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me with my problem. Today our HR manager visited my location office and since I wanted an original employer letter I asked to see her and collect the letter, however she wrote on it my annual salary is XXX instead of saying my GROSS annual salary is XXX. Now I am confused if I can still use this letter as I know this is a very important piece of document and can lead to a refusal. If I ask for a new one, it will have to be scanned to me as HR department is in Bristol. Any suggestion will help at this moment as I am really stressed over this. Thank you

Real Time Information problem with HMRC

Post by Whitnified » Thu Feb 22, 2018 2:39 pm

I applied for my husband's visa from Nigeria this month and sent off all documents, however due to previous refusals I have read regarding issues with HMRC I decided to create my account with them so I can see my income tax details. I logged in and can not see my pay for January although all other payments are visible since I started working for my employer. I called our finance team and they said they sent all employees details to HMRC end of January like they have been doing. I called HMRC they said my employer hasn't sent my January details. I have been going back and forth with both HMRC and my employer and HMRC has asked me to wait till February ending and if my pay for February still doesn't show they I can follow it up with our finance team. This has never happened before and I feel so helpless as this is something beyond my control.

I submitted my 6 months payslips (aug-jan) that was signed & stamped by my company and authenticated as well in my employer letter and 6 months bank statements that shows every payment coming in including the one for January. I am so scared now as we paid for priority. do not want UKVI thinking I stopped working or lied about my work. don't know what to do. do you think what I provided for my employment is enough or this issue with HMRC will cost me a refusal.
Thank you.
