Hi Friends,
I had got the HSMP approval letter on 31 October. My company is sending me to London on WP next weekend. As the HSMP letter is valid till April ( 6 months starting from 31 October ), I want to prepare the application while I am still in India so that I can file the application as soon as I land in London.
So please advise me as to what are the forms and documents I need to tandem for the application.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your help.

Make sure you company doesn't extend your WP or your HSMP visa will be superceeded by the WP

Why you are allowing your company to process your WP , its loss to them , if you are applying for FLR immediately after landing here ?

Hi there,
Be careful while changing to HSMP. Your WP will get expired when u get ur hsmp (I mean EC).
After this if ur company is trying to extend , you will be in trouble if you have not informed ur employer.

No problem if the company tries to extend the WP.. They cannot do that as the expiry date for WP is 24 months down the line from now. By that time , I would have anyway made the move to a different employer..
Now the documents that are required. Please help me on this.

The new tier has been in force UK already.
You don't need to show all the evidences that you have used when you claim for HSMP.You just need to prove that you have maintained 800pounds in your bank account for 3 months. This is the key change under new scheme.
Cheers

hi prem12
Is it possible to hold both HSMP approval letter and work permit at the same time? I heard that you can have only one at a time since both are work permits only.
Cheers

Yes, it is possible to hold.
While stamping the visa for hsmp on the passport, they will cancell the work permit visa.

my friend is also in a similar situation as discussed above. he has a valid Hsmp approval letter from jan 2008(applied while he was in india)..he came here in january on WP and wrking for his indian employer, his WP expires by Dec 2008.
Now since he has HSMP approval letter hes thninking to go for FLR..if he can shw the bank statemnts for last 3 months wil that me enough or shd he give payslips compulsorily.??
also the bank balance shd be more than 800£ at the time of aplying or shd it be always > 800£ in last 3 months??
please clarify these things..also if anyone has more information on any consusltants here in UK who deal with FLR, please send those details in PM..
Cheers

I hope the bank balance should be always be >800£ in last 3 months.
One advantage going for FLR is he has to show only 800£, else i thnk it wll be 2800£. Even i m searching for the same..

Hi lion,
Hope u might have read the new posts...
The balance to be shown is only 800£ at any given point of time before the application.
For example, if you apply under Tier 1 (General) on 12 June, a single bank statement with a closing balance of £800 dated between 12 May and 12 June will meet the maintenance requirements. A bank statement dated before 12 May will not be acceptable

Hi,
I have applied for EC under HSMP on 05-Mar and I'm waiting for the result. Meanwhile my employer wants to apply Workpermit for me. Is it possible to have Workpermit along with HSMP or my HSMP visa will be cancelled while issuing Workpermit? Please advice.
