Is there anyone who has applied in the last week of feb '08 and received a decesion??

My application went out on 27th Feb and i have no news of the status...called the HO multiple times and all I get is the ringing phone with no answer( option 2 and then 2 again).

When you all talk about the 'Date Approved', do they send you an e-mail to confirm that they have approved you? Or do you only find out what date you were approved when the documents arrive in the mail?

got my reference email on 18th Feb. Nothing arrives yet...
I can't wait anymore and sent my TIER1(FLR) without approval letter because my student visa expires on 30th March.

Am I in trouble??

I guess Its just a gamble coz
if you get your letter late then it might be a problem
OR
You might have a chance and if if u get it before they start reviewing your FLR application

I have got the same issue as u coz my visa expires on 31st but I have been told by my solicitor to extend my visa to be on the safe side...

I guess it's allowed according to the BIA's Transitional arrangements for those with an HSMP approval letter

Arrangements have been put in place to allow those who have an HSMP approval letter to apply for entry clearance or further leave to remain by making a Tier 1 (General) - highly skilled worker application. They are:

if, on 29 February 2008, youhave already applied for or obtained an HSMP approval letter but have yet to apply for leave to remain as a highly skilled migrant. This applies only if you are in the United Kingdom in a category that is allowed to switch into Tier 1 (General). For example, working holidaymakers cannot apply to Tier 1 (General) even if they already have an HSMP approval letter. See the Initial applications page for details of which categories you can switch from.


Anyway.. let's wait and see. I'll report the progress once getting anything from HO.

option 3 for work permit ( & not option 2 for HSMP)
then - option 2 for General enquiries about Work permit (& not option 1 for progress)

After about 5 minutes of ringing , there will be a voice mail saying keep references ready, after about a total of 7 - 9 minutes, the call will be attended.

Call after 2:00PM.

Received Reference on : Feb 19 2008 ( 2506**)
Approved on : 26th March 2008.
Location : India (Bharat desh mahaan...Thats y Tier-1 is being started here)


Moving to EC using Tier-1 application form, confusion reigns..

Thanks mjshruthi, that helped, they received my application on the 4th of March..( dunno how, the payment has been cleared, but they have not assigned a ref number yet, the lady I spoke to said that it has not been assigned to the hsmp team yet...( this is getting frustrating...and im getting nervous ...praying that I get some news next week atleast.... I desperately need this
