Spouse Visa - Husband/Sponsor with Criminal Conviction

Post by viki83 » Thu Nov 23, 2017 3:19 pm

Hi,

I need an advice on sponsoring wife from Pakistan. As I have seen form VAF4a, there is nowhere it asks for convictions or criminal record of the sponsor. Would it have any impact on getting spouse visa for wife whereas if the husband/sponsor has a common assault (domestic violence with ex-wife) conviction and is currently serving a sentence of community order (unpaid work)?

Thanks,
Viki83

You apply visa and you have no convictions

You are main applicant.
It doesn't effect you.

That is normal in uk.

Every body has right to live with his partner.
You safe

I mean your spouse is main applicant
Not SPONSOR

Spouse visa procedure

Post by viki83 » Sun Feb 04, 2018 2:10 pm

Hi,

Please can someone guide me on the process of applying for my wife from Pakistan. So as I understand, I will have to fill in online application form for her and then she will have to print that out and submit it to Gerrys with passport, English test and fees to be paid there.

As I am the sponsor, will I have to directly send my documents to Sheffield here in UK or do I have to send my documents to her to submit it to Gerrys with her application form?

Also what documents I need to submit as originals and what documents as copy in the following list:

1. Payslips - they are online so I can print and send? Does it need attestation?
2. P60 - is also online version so I can print and send? Does it need attestation?
3. Copy of my passport or original?
4. Bank statements - Original or online printed pdfs? How many months?
5. Proof of accommodation - Bills etc printed online?
6. Nikah nama - Original or copy? To be submitted by me or her in Pakistan?
7. Proof of marriage subsistence - whatsapp, photos - To be submitted by me or her in Pakistan?

Thanks

Is this for a different wife?

Your previous posts state you and your wife applied for citizenship in 2015.

What date did you get divorced (decree Absolute) and what date did you remarry?

You must submit evidence that both you and your new wife are free to marry. Do you have the decree absolute?

Yes I have the decree absolute. I will marry this month. I have been going through the procedures but confused what will need to be submitted by me as sponsor from here in UK and what will need to be submit by her in Pakistan at Gerrys? For example, things like Nikah-nama etc should these be submitted by her?

Please can you breadown the list I will have to submit here in UK and list of things she will need to submit with her application at Pakistan.

Thanks

Useful to search the forum, there are 100s of posts about this.

immigration-for-family-members/settleme ... 06101.html

immigration-for-family-members/update-o ... 93554.html

All documents must be original. Any documents not in English must be official translated and both original and translated copy submitted.

I have gone through all the process but I want some clarification on what is best to submit from here. So this is what I concluded:

1. I as sponsor fill in online application form on her behalf.

2. I also print out and fill in VAF4A form on her behalf.

3. Then she has to simply go to Gerryrs to submit biometric and submit her original passport and nothing else.

4. I have to ask my wife to post copy of nikah nama, TB certificate origial, English test original from Pakistan to UK.

5. Then I post all documents together such as my statements, copy of my passport, housing, her English test cert, her TB certificate to Sheffield from here in UK directly with my own UK return address. Will that be accepted or is it necessary for her to post her documents from Pakistan to UK?

1. The online form has to be submitted by her at VFS.

2. VAF4A is the online form. You need Appendix FM-SE which is a paper form.

3. Some areas the VFS scans the originals in. Best to check with Gerrys.

4. Check with Gerry's. You need original nikah nama and official translation if not in English. (thought you were still getting married this month??)

5. Check with Gerry's or what the online systems tells you to do.
