Queries on Filling Tier 2 General Dependent Application Form

I am currently in UK on Tier 2 Visa and I wanted to bring my wife to here.. Can someone suggested me whether my wife prove her English in any format?

Hi All,

I am on Tier 2 General Visa and currently in UK and I am trying to apply a Tier 2 Dependent Visa for my Wife who is currently in INDIA.

I have got below few queries while trying to fill the application form, So, can someone please try to clarify my queries.


1. Does my wife required to submit Criminal Record Certificate?

2. What visa sub-type do I need to select from drop down?
Reason for Visit: Work
Visa Type: Tier 2 (General) Visa
Visa Sub-Type: What do I need to select from below two options?
i. General Migrant, up to 3 years
ii. General Partner, up to 3 years.

3. There is a Main Applicant Section while filling the form. In this section do I need to fill My details or My
wife's details?

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 (General) adult applicants whose employment is under prescribed standard occupational classification (SOC) code, and their adult dependants, must provide original and English-translated overseas criminal record certificates from all countries in which they've resided for 12 months or more in the past 10 years while 18 or over. Your wife is the main applicant for a tier 2 dependent visa.

Regarding my first question "Criminal Record Certificate"
My SOC code is: 2136 which was NOT listed in the link that you provided.
So,
here my wife don't have to provide the criminal record certificate am I correct?
or
all dependents must provide this certificate ?

Hi nagarjunareddy04,

Main application for Dependent visa will be your details, not the applicants

Applicant details are already provided in Part 1 & 2 of the application

Part 6 Main application will be the one who is on T2 General Migrant

Now I need answer from someone about "Criminal Record Certificate".

Does all the dependents required to provide this certificate ?


My SOC code is: 2136 and I haven't provided this certificate during my Tier 2 (General) application. So, I am not sure about the dependents?

Can someone please help me on this?

Yes it mandatory for Main applicant as well as any adult dependent
