Applying for dependent visa....

Post by antouk » Tue Mar 18, 2008 3:29 am

Hi,
I have couple of queries:

1. Can i apply for dependent visa being here by showing more funds ? I want to avoid unnecessary complications(fund maintainance etc.) due to new rules.

2. Both our passports doesnt have spouse names included. We have marriage cerificate and other proofs. Will this be a problem?

Thanks

I think you can show funds from here , your spouse's funds and your offer letter and payslips from UK. also your accomodation arrangements in UK.

Thanks
- I don't think so. i've not changed my maiden name on any documents after marriage. Dont' think it should be a problem. marriage certificate and snaps or any other docs should be good enough.

yes! I applied same way..
your spouse has to apply as dependant..

mention your plans in the cover letter and you can attach your job search printouts for proof.

1> what would b the minimum amount i need to show for consulate?
2> Is utility bills and tenancy agreements of UK r mandatory?

Since you are in Uk, i think the tenancy agreement and utility bills will be required.
For funds you can show your 1 month stmt + job offer + other savings you have. Approx total of 3000 pounds, should be ok IMHO.

Basically you have to convince the visa officer that you and your spouse will be able to sustain in UK. hence the savings amount should be high.
