Employment post-studying

Post by rjg29 » Fri Dec 22, 2017 10:21 am

We have candidate who finished studies and says she can work with us full time. Says that HE institution can extend her Tier 4 visa for another year now she has finished.
Is this correct? Seems to be little information online about employing Tier 4 workers, especially post-study. We employed during studies before and know that 20 hour a week rule applies.
Any information would be helpful!

As an employer, if you have questions or concerns about someone's right to work in the UK, you need to do proper checks with the Home Office, not via this forum. See https://www.gov.uk/legal-right-work-uk

See specifically the guidance for employers "Preventing illegal working: frequently asked questions", section 8: Employing students: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... -questions

If an employee is asking you for immigration advice and you have no expertise, best refer for immigration legal advice. A student's university may be able to advise on their options for working after studies, but not necessarily.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
