Notice period and start date of COS

Hi All,

I am in the midst of changing sponsor and my new sponsor has issued me with a CoS.

However, they have put the start date on the CoS pretty early (early Jan) and there is no way that I will be able to get the visa approved and have served my 1 month notice period by then.

Is my only course of action to get them to reissue the CoS with a later start date (Understand that per the Tier 2 guidance, I am only allowed to continue working with my current sponsor (aka notice period) until the start date on the new Cos)?
